We left Gillette, Wy to proceed to Rapid City, S D and stayed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. We will be here for 4 days to visit the site around the Black Hills. For Wynn we went to Sturgis and Maile (grandma) went to Deadwood. This is were Wild Bill Hickcock was murdered. The trip to Mt Rushmore was very interesting. M aile (grandma) got me to go on the stage for the veterans ceremony that took place. I am second from the right side in rear. There were approx 50 veterans out of 1000 people at the attendance of the lighting of the Mt Rushmore. For the grandchildren can you name the Presidents that are on the mountain and what order was elected.? The sculpture was started in 1931 and was dedicated in 1941. The dead of Jefferson was done over twice. The last picture was taken around 10pm. The Presidents never see darkness.
